A Brief Guide to Postgraduate Course Registration

The credit requirement for postgraduate studies in each semester is a minimum of 6 credits and a maximum of 12 credits, comprising the following:

01. Every Semester

All postgraduate students must register for the following research course every semester:

• SPS5999: Master’s Research; or
• SPS6999: PhD Research
  
  

02. First or Second Semester (Compulsory Courses)

Students must register for and complete the following core courses during the early stage of their studies:

• BBS5901: Research Methodology
• SPS5903/6903: Proposal Seminar; and
• BBS5905: Scientific Writing in Biotechnology
  
  

03. BBS5903/6904 Final Seminar

Students are required to register for the Final Seminar course according to their respective study timelines:

• Master’s students: Semester 4
• PhD students: Semester 6
