Faculty offers four program of study at bachelor level. Program offered are the Bachelor Science (Hons) Biotechnology, Bachelor Science (Hons) Biochemistry, Bachelor Science (Hons) Microbiology and Bachelor Science (Hons) Cell and Molecular Biology
Bachelor Science (Hons) Biotechnology
This full time program is offered by the Department of Bioprocess Technology, University Putra Malaysia (UPM), Serdang. The duration study for a B.Sc. (Hons) Biotechnology is eight semesters (four years) with a total of 135 credits.
Method for implementation of program s, include lectures, tutorials,seminars, practical sessions, student-centered learning (SCL), computer-aided learning, industry training, study tours, case studies and research projects.
Students are required to take foundation courses / core, major preparation offered by the university. In the third year, students are given the opportunity to choose between the two (2) modules that are offered and students are required to choose at least 35 credits from elective courses offered. Elective courses are divided into two (2), namely:
a) Elective courses in science and technology (to be taken by both the options / modules)
b) Elective courses in science and technology (to be taken by both the options / modules)
i. Pure biotechnology (management and humanities elective course)
ii. Entrepreneurial biotechnology (biotech entrepreneurship electives courses)
A student must choose 23 credits from elective courses in science and technology offered by the Faculty as listed in the curriculum and the rest depends on the option / module selected. If students choose to take the option / module of pure biotechnology, students must choose 6 credits of elective courses in management and humanities and the rest (6 credits) from any course with the permission of the department to complete 35 credits of elective courses.
Meanwhile, if students choose to take the option / biotechnology entrepreneurship modules, students must take all 12 credits of elective courses listed biotechnology entrepreneurship to complete 35 credits of elective courses.

This full time programme is offered by the Department of Microbiology, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Serdang. The duration of study for a B. Sc, (Hons) Microbiology is eight semesters (four years) with a total of 127 credits.

This full time programme is offered by the Department of Cell and Molecular Biology, University Putra Malaysia (UPM), Serdang. The duration of study for a B. Sc. (Hons) in Cell and Molecular Biology is eight semesters (four years), with a total of 128 credit hours.
Cell and molecular biology programme emphasizes the understanding of the organization and regulation of cell function at the molecular level. This includes knowledge of the structure and function of biomolecules as well as their involvement in various cellular activities, reproduction and growth of the organism. Understanding of the mechanisms of cell and molecular biology techniques can help resolve questions related to the functions of life systems. Knowledge and skills in this area will also lead to the rapid development of the biotechnology industry based on the manipulation of life-stage system cells to produce new products such as high-quality crop genes, drugs for the treatment of various human and animal diseases, as well as quality health products.
