INTRODUCTION
The Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology with Honours is an advanced undergraduate programme that offers student an in-depth exploration of the fascinating world of cells and molecules. This programme is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental principles and cutting-edge techniques in cell and molecular biology. Students will deleve into topics such as cell structure and function, genetics, gene expression, molecular signalling, and cellular processes. Students will develop a strong foundation in both theoretical knowledge and practical skills through a combinaton of rigorous coursework, hands-on laboratory experiences, and research projects.
The programme also emphasises critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and scientific inquiry, encouraging students to explore current research and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field. Graduates of this progarmme will be well-prepared for further studies in cell and molecular biolog or related disciplines, as well as for careers in research, healthcare, biotechnology and other scientific industries.
The program spans eight semesters (four years) with a minimum of 126 credits required for graduation. It utilizes Student-Centered Learning (SCL) methods, blending theory and practical experience through lectures, tutorials, seminars, industrial training, study visits, case studies, fieldwork, and research projects.
