The Faculty of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences (FBSB), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) successfully organised the Biotech Postgraduate (PG) Virtual Promotion 2026 to promote postgraduate study opportunities to prospective students, particularly those from Indonesia. The programme was held in collaboration with PT Nizwa Pratama and NP Education (Malaysian Universities & Institutions Representative in Indonesia).

The programme attracted 42 participants and commenced with a presentation by Mr. Andi Ansharullah from NP Education, who introduced postgraduate study opportunities in Malaysia. This was followed by a session by Prof. Ts. Dr. Hidayah Ariffin, Deputy Dean (Research and Postgraduate Studies), who highlighted the advantages and opportunities of pursuing postgraduate studies at FBSB. Dr. Sharifah Alawieyah Syed Mortadza then shared insights into the faculty's research excellence, followed by Dr. Mohd Shamzi Mohamed, who introduced entrepreneurship opportunities in biotechnology through the Master of Biotechnology with Bioentrepreneurship programme. The programme concluded with a sharing session by Mr. Afdal Naufal, a Year 3 Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Biotechnology student, who shared his experiences and perspectives as an Indonesian student studying at UPM.

The programme is one of FBSB's initiatives to attract prospective international students while strengthening the strategic collaboration between FBSB, UPM, PT Nizwa Pratama and NP Education in promoting Malaysia as a preferred destination for postgraduate studies in biotechnology.
