The dynamic changes after the 4th Industrial Revolution has prompted the Ministry of Higher Education of Malaysia to revise how teaching and learning processes are conducted in educational settings in Malaysia. There are urging needs to create and redesign a more active, immersive and meaningful learning environment to stimulate passion and interest of the Gen-Z in enhancing their learning experience in and beyond classes Hence, in accordance with Malaysian Development Plan of Education (Higher Education) 2015 – 2025, the Ministry of Higher Education of Malaysia has initiated this award to identify, acknowledge and as a platform for all lecturers to share the best practices and initiatives in improving higher education in Malaysia at individual or institutional levels.
On 20th November 2017, Assoc. Prof. Dr Wan Zuhainis Saad was awarded the 1st place in the Reimagining and Redesigning Malaysian Higher Education Award 2017 (APRS2017) under ‘Virtual Immersive Learning Experience’ category.
The award was presented by YB. Dato’ Seri Idris Jusoh, Minister of Higher Education at Hotel Istana, Kuala Lumpur.
