The staff of Universiti Putra Malaysia is committed towards excellence through the adoption of a culture of quality in teaching and learning, research and support services to meet the goals of the university’s strategic plan.

Towards this goal, the Faculty of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences shall perform its duties in achieving quality objectives laid down, as well as to ensure that these objectives are reviewed from time to time to conform to the vision, mission and goal of UPM.

One of the important activities to maintain the quality of practice is through Internal Audit. The Faculty of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences has previously conducted an audit on the 4 -5 April. The audit was conducted based on the procedures and guidelines which were established based on the needs of ISO MS 9001:2015. Fourteen PTJ auditors carried out their duties led by Puan Juita Md Tahir from the Faculty of Environmental Studies.

The audit’s main scope was the Management Scope, Main Management Scope (Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Research) and the Support Scope comprising of customer management, finance, staff training, equipment, infrastructure facilities and vehicles, human resource management, security management and staff health, equipment calibration and verification, lab management and safety, self-accreditation management and industrial and community linkages.

Some findings of non-compliance and opportunities to improve which were found and presented to the Faculty were sent to the Quality Assurance Section of UPM for verification.

In conclusion from this audit, it was found that the Faculty always practices good QMS and always attempts to increase the quality in teaching, learning and research. The support and cooperation of the FBSB staff is pertinent in ensuring the goals can be achieved and the quality maintained.
